EYE LIGHT® LOW-LEVEL LIGHT THERAPY

Revitalise Your Eyes with the Power of Light.

Introducing Eye Light®—the non-invasive, pain-free Photobiomodulation therapy that treats the root cause of dry eye. Available now at The Dry Eyes Clinic.

What is Eye Light® LLLT?

Low-level light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. In dry eye patients, it is used to help the meibomian glands recover and produce better oils.

Treatment is delivered via a special mask that sits over the top half of your face and takes about fifteen minutes. There is no pain or discomfort and, although it may feel quite warm, this is not harmful.

A course of LLLT consists of one treatment a week for four weeks.

Why should I have this treatment?

Chronically dry eyes are not only uncomfortable; they also risk damage to corneas, and atrophy (wasting away) of the glands which produce the oil component of your tears. Treatment is essential.

Artificial tears, eye drops and other home treatments are time consuming and tend to offer only limited and short-term relief. LLLT helps improve the function of the meibomian glands, reduce inflammation, and enhance tear film stability.

How does it work?

LLLT works through a process of photobiomodulation to encourage better oil flow and improve the health of the meibomian glands to reduce symptoms of dry eyes.

It delivers red and near-infrared light through specially designed LEDs placed near the eyes, via a special mask. The light:

1. Stimulates the mitochondria within your cells (the body’s “energy factories”), boosting cellular activity.

2. Activates an anti-inflammatory effect.

3. Stimulates the cellular mechanisms responsible for tissue repair and their regeneration.

4) Triggers an endogenous heating of the eyelids.

What are the success rates?

Eye Light® is backed by medical research.

Published studies have found noticeable improvements in over 70% of patients in both tear film and symptoms.

Can anyone have LLLT treatment?

LLLT has been used in medical applications for decades. It is extremely safe, suitable for all skin types, and does not use lasers or harmful UV light.

Who is this NOT for?

Transparency is part of our care. Eye Light® is generally not recommended if you:

Will I see a result immediately?

Many people notice an improvement in symptoms within days to weeks. Benefits may include:
• Less dryness or burning
• Reduced eye fatigue
• Fewer symptoms of blepharitis or meibomian gland dysfunction
• Improved tear film quality and comfort

How long does the improvement in symptoms last?

As the effects can gradually wear off, some patients benefit from maintenance sessions a few times a year.
